Publish and unpublish Shopify products by sales channel

Mixtable makes it easy to control which sales channels your products are visible in. You can publish or unpublish products per-channel in bulk, using simple true/false values in a spreadsheet.

Publishing and unpublishing is two-way synced: if you change a product’s channel availability directly in Shopify, Mixtable will automatically sync that update back to your spreadsheet (and vice versa).

This works for:

• Shopify sales channels (for example: Online Store, Point of Sale)
• Third-party channels (for example: Facebook and Instagram, Google and YouTube)
• International market catalogs
• B2B catalogs / price lists

Before you start

• Make sure your Shopify store is connected to Mixtable.
• Your products must be Active in Shopify to be published to sales channels. If you need to bulk-change product status, see: Bulk update Shopify product status.

Create a Products workbook

1. Create a new workbook.
2. Choose a products template (for example, the Base product template) to quickly load a Products worksheet.
3. (Optional) Remove any columns you don’t need, so the worksheet only includes the fields you want to export or edit.

Add sales channel columns

Each sales channel (or catalog) is mapped to its own column. Mixtable will then populate the column with true/false for each product, based on whether that product is published in that channel.

1. Find an empty column in your Products worksheet.
2. To load new Shopify data, start by selecting an empty column — any column with a non-green header (green headers mean the column is already linked to Shopify data). Then, click the ⚡️ button in the column header to open the selection window to choose the data you want to pull in.
3. In the column picker, select Sales channels.
4. Choose the specific channel or catalog you want to control (for example: Online Store), then click Save.
5. Repeat for any other channels you want to manage (for example: Point of Sale, Facebook and Instagram, Google and YouTube, a specific market, or a B2B catalog).

Publish or unpublish products (in bulk)

1. In a sales channel column, set:

   • true to publish the product to that channel
   • false to unpublish the product from that channel

2. Use copy/paste or fill-down to apply the same true/false value across multiple channel columns and/or multiple products.

3. Click Sync worksheet changes to Shopify to apply the changes.

Mixtable will sync the updates quickly, and the product’s sales channel availability will update in Shopify.

Troubleshooting

• A channel column is missing: Make sure the sales channel/app is installed and enabled in Shopify, then add the column again.
• Product won’t publish: Confirm the product status is Active (draft products can’t be published to channels).
