Sales by Customer Template

Want to know exactly what’s fueling your Shopify success? Dive into your Sales by Customer data to gain the clarity needed for strategic growth.

You can use the template to understand:

• Customer segmentation by spending: You can segment your customers based on their Total Order Amount. This allows you to identify your high-value customers and tailor marketing efforts accordingly.
  *For example, you could create segments for “VIP Customers” (top 10% by spending) or “High Potential Customers” (frequent buyers with moderate spending).*
• Average Order Value (AOV) analysis: Track the Average Order Value across different customer segments, product categories, or time periods. This can help you understand what drives higher AOV and identify opportunities to increase it.
• Customer Lifetime Value (CLTV) estimation: While this template doesn’t directly provide CLTV, you can estimate it. Here’s the formula:

(Average Purchase Value x Purchase Frequency) x Average Customer Lifespan = Customer Lifetime Value

How to load the Sales by Customer template?

• After installing the Mixtable Analytics app, click the Create a Workbook button.
• Select the Sales by Customer pre-built template from the list.

Data included in the Sales by Customer template

The Sales by Customer template contains the following default data points:

• Customer First Name
• Customer Last Name
• Email
• Total Order Count
• Total Order Gross Amount
• Total Order Discount Amount
• Total Order Refund Amount
• Total Order Net Amount
• Average Order Value
• Product Categories Bought by Customer
• Product Types Bought by Customer
• Segments Customer is In

In addition to the default data pulled from Shopify, you can map extra columns with desired data. Here’s how:

• To load new Shopify data, start by selecting an empty column — any column with a non-green header (green headers mean the column is already linked to Shopify data). Then, click the ⚡️ button in the column header to open the selection window to choose the data you want to pull in.

  

• From the Shopify Sync Settings window, choose a metric.

• Select a time range, if necessary.

The data will begin to populate the column.
