Preview Shopify changes before syncing

When you’re editing Shopify data in Mixtable, it’s helpful to double-check your changes before they go live. Sync Preview makes this easy by temporarily hiding everything that hasn’t changed, so you can focus on exactly what’s about to sync.

This is especially useful before syncing updates to Shopify product prices, inventory quantities, tags, metafields, and order details.

How Sync Preview works

When you turn on Sync Preview for a Shopify worksheet:

• Rows without changes are hidden
• Columns without changes are hidden
• Your data isn’t deleted or changed—it’s just temporarily hidden to make reviewing easier

When you turn Sync Preview off, your full worksheet view comes back.

Preview your changes

1. Open the Shopify worksheet you want to sync (like Products, Inventory, Customers, or Orders)
2. Make your edits in the spreadsheet
3. Look for the sync banner that shows how many changes are ready (like 5 changes to sync)
4. Click Preview changes before sync
5. Review the visible rows and columns to confirm what will update in Shopify
6. When everything looks good, click Sync worksheet changes to Shopify

To go back to your full worksheet view, click Turn off sync preview.

Tips for better reviews

• Review in stages: If you’re making lots of updates, preview after each batch to catch mistakes early
• Start small: When syncing a worksheet to Shopify for the first time, test with a few rows, preview them, then sync
• Check formula results: If you used formulas to generate updates, preview is a quick way to spot unexpected values before they go to Shopify

Troubleshooting

I don’t see the preview button

Sync Preview only appears on Shopify worksheets when you have changes ready to sync. Make some edits first, then the preview option will show up.

Nothing shows in the preview

If you don’t have any pending changes in the worksheet, there’s nothing to preview or sync. The preview will be empty until you make edits.
