Export Shopify Refunds to CSV or Excel

Mixtable can load Shopify refund records into a worksheet and export them as CSV or as part of an Excel file. Use a refund export when you need transaction-level detail: reconciling with your accounting system, giving your bookkeeper a file, investigating a disputed refund, or running your own analysis outside Mixtable.

This is different from refund analytics. Analytics summarize refund value, refunded order counts, and refund rates. An export gives you the underlying Shopify refund rows, with the fields you choose, one line at a time.

Create a Shopify refunds worksheet

1. Open a Mixtable spreadsheet connected to your Shopify store
2. Click the + button beside the worksheet tabs
3. Select Shopify data worksheet
4. Choose Refunds for refund-level records, or Refund line items for the individual products in each refund
5. Choose the standard fields, all available fields, or a custom field selection
6. Create the worksheet and wait for the Shopify data to finish loading

Pick Refunds when you are reconciling money, since each row is one refund with its own totals and transaction details. Pick Refund line items when you are investigating products, since each row is a line item included in a refund, so you can see which products the money was refunded against.

Keep in mind that a refund line item records what was refunded, not necessarily what was physically shipped back. Orders get refunded for damage, price adjustments, shipping problems, and goodwill too.

Refund fields can include identifiers, dates, amounts, notes, related order information, and transaction details. Refund line-item worksheets can include quantities, subtotals, taxes, and the related order line item.

Add, remove, or reorder columns before exporting so the file contains the fields you need, in the order whoever receives it expects.

Export the current refunds worksheet to CSV

1. Open the refunds worksheet you want to export
2. Click Import & Export in the top toolbar
3. Select Export to CSV
4. Save the downloaded .csv file

CSV export includes the current worksheet only. Use this option when you want a focused refund or refund-line-item file.

Export the full spreadsheet to Excel

1. Click Import & Export in the top toolbar
2. Select Export to Excel
3. Save the downloaded .xlsx file

Excel export includes the entire spreadsheet, with every worksheet. Remove any worksheets you do not want to share, or use CSV when you only need the active refunds worksheet.

When to use analytics instead

If you want refund totals and rates rather than individual records, use the analytics metrics: Total Refund Amount Excluding Tax for value, Refund Count for frequency, and Percent of Orders Refunded for the rate. Those calculate per product, variant, collection, or customer, which a raw refund export cannot do on its own.
